Founders who write X threads and struggle with the first tweet
No metric reported. Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole teach ChatGPT to write five types of thread lead-ins in a single prompt, then expand the best into many more. Their rule: the first tweet must make it clear who it is for, what it is about, why to trust you, what the reader gets, and how their life changes.
Illustrative: Topic 'hiring your first salesperson.' A lead-in that answers all five questions: 'I've hired 14 salespeople for founder-led B2B companies. 9 failed. Here's the 6-question filter I use now, so your first sales hire pays for themselves in 90 days:'
I'm writing an X thread. Here are my answers: - Who it's for: [audience] - What it's about: [topic] - Why trust me: [real credential or experience] - What the reader gets: [specific takeaway] - How their life is different after: [outcome] Write 5 first tweets (lead-ins), each using a different hook type: 1. Credibility + number ('I've done X. Here are Y lessons:') 2. Small effort, big outcome 3. Mistake to avoid 4. Contrarian claim 5. Before/after transformation Each must answer all five of my points, stay under 280 characters, and end with a colon or a reason to open the thread. Use only the facts above. Then ask me which one I like, and write 10 variations of it by changing the number, the audience or the outcome.
